Online chess lessons

Are you having a hard time finding a chess teacher in your area?  You don’t have to live in the San Francisco bay area to take lessons from me.  I offer online chess lessons for beginners and intermediate players anywhere.

Who: I teach one-on-one, private chess lessons to dedicated adults, college students, mature highschoolers and children just starting to play chess or wants to improve their game and meet their overall chess goals.

Where: I teach online chess lessons on chess.com, a very popular chess website.  To communicate with each other, I also use Skype.  Students must be “Diamond” or “Platinum” members to receive online lessons on chess.com and have a Skype account too.

How long and how much: I charge $32 for an 1 hour long lesson.

Lesson description:

I teach opening, middle and endgame strategies and also tactics (specific patterns in the position) and basic checkmates — the goal of every chess game.

I also go over games move-by-move that my students have played in person or online to help seek improvements that are tailored for each individual.

If the student has not already played in tournaments and is interested in playing in their first United States Chess Federation (USCF) tournament, I’ll help them get prepared.  Students learn to record their moves, play with a clock, sign up for the right section at the tournament, and more.

I strongly encourage my students to play chess often, so they can start gaining playing experience and develop their own unique playing style.
